worked for some time in leading dental offices in Massachusetts. In 1903 he came Charlottetown and commenced the practice of his profession, having commodious, well furnished offices, and from the start he has given a guarantee with all work done by him, hence the name of his establishment. “Guarantee Dental Parlors.” He is a mem- ber of the Prince Edward Island Dental As— sociation and is now an active worker on its examining board. He stands high in the estimation of his professional colleagues and commands the confidence and regard of the public to an eminent degree. Fratemally he belongs to the Independent Order of Odd Fellows, the Independent Order of Foresters and the Knights of Pythias. On January 19. 1905, Doctor Robins married Miss Ma- rian Caughrean. a native of St. Louis.
L. W. COOK, the well known proprietor of one of the leading jewelry stores in Charlottetown, is a native of this city, hav- ing been born on August 29. 1875, and is the son of William and Louise (Fielding) Cook, the former a native of Devonshire. England, and the latter of Halifax, Nova Scotia. The paternal grandfather, Thomas Cook, came to the Island in an early day and located at Malpeque, a few years later re- moving to Charlottetown Royalty. where he was for a short time engaged in farming. He was successful financially and eventually was enabled to retire from active business and reside in a comfortable home in Char- lottetown, where he spent his remaining days. The subject’s maternal grandfather, John Fielding, was of the same stock from which sprang the present premier, Hon. W. S.

Fielding. Leslie W. Cook was employed in Charlottetown for many years and was a highly respected citizen. The subject of this sketch acquired his school education in Char- lottetown and then learned the jeweler’s trade with G. G. Jury, with whom he re- mained five years. He then entered the em- ploy of G. H. Taylor, with whom he re- mained five years, when, in 1900, he started in business for himself at the corner of Great George and Grafton streets. He carried a complete and well selected line of watches, clocks, gold and silver jewelry and such other stock as is usually found in an up-to- date establishment of this kind, and from the beginning he has enjoyed a constantly in- creasing patronage, being now considered one of the reliable and trustworthy firms in this line of business in the city. Mr. Cook’s splendid personal qualities have rec— ommended him to the confidence of the peo- ple and he stands high in general esteem. Fratemally Mr. Cook is a member of the Sons of England.
E. \V. TAYLOR, the enterprising propri- etor of an up-to—date and well patronized jewelry store in Charlottetown, was born in Norfolk county, England, in July, 1846. His parents, Dennis and Mary Ann (Coe) Taylor. and his paternal grandfather, Daniel Taylor. were all natives of Suffolk, Eng- land. The latter was a farmer and a free- holder. while the father was a jeweler by trade and followed that vocation throughout his active years. E. W. Taylor learned the jeweler's trade under his father’s instruc— tions and in 1869 he came to Prince Edward Island. Soon afterward he started in busi- ness on Sunnyside in Charlottetown, where
