side; Sarah, at home; Gertrude, the wife of Major Jones of St. Eleanor‘s; Margaret, a professional nurse in Pennsylvania; Freder- ick, now a resident of Minneapolis, Minne- sota, and Eleanor, matron of a sanitarium in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. Mr. Green has been a member of the Episcopal church for many years and a warden in the same. He has taken a deep interest in the various ac- tivities of the church and gives his suport to all movements having for their object the benefit of the community. He has served as a justice of the peace for over sixty years, and has also served as sheriff for several terms. He is public spirited and progress- ive in his attitude toward public questions and enjoys the absolute confidence and re- spect of all who know him.
CAVIN R. HARDING.—L0t 20. Queens county, is fortunate in being the location of many practical and successful farmers. among the best known of whom is he whose name heads this paragraph. Mr. Harding was born on his present farm on May 21. 1881, and has resided here ever since. His parents were Joseph and Mary (Whitehead) Harding, the subject’s father having been also born on the present place in 1840. He was the father of six children, namely: An— drew, in the Yukon district of Alaska: Charles, who is a lumberman in British Co- lumbia; Elizabeth is the wife of Patrick Cash, a farmer; Joseph, employed on the Canadian Pacific Railroad at Medicine Hat. Canada; the subject of this sketch is next in order of birth; and the youngest is Emma, who still remains at home.

of which he took up the vocation of farming, which he has successfully followed during the subsequent years. He is the owner of two hundred and fifty acres of fine land, two hundred and ten of which are under the plow, and here he carries on a diversified system of farming, giving also some atten- tion to stock raising and dairying, sending the dairy products to the co-operative cheese and butter factory at Stanley Bridge. His cattle are thoroughbred Holsteins, in which he takes a justifiable pride, and he also raises thoroughbred Yorkshire hogs. Mr. Hard- ing supports the Liberal party, and frater- nally is a member of the Canadian Order of Foresters at Clinton. He has given proper attention to every detail of his business and is achieving a definite sucess in his line. He is a public spirited and progressive citi- zen, who is deservedly enjoying the respect of his neighbors and associates.
ROBERT CAIRNS MCLEOD, late a promi- nent citizen of Lot 17, Prince county, was born at Dumstaffnage. Prince Edward Is- ' land, on May 4, 1851. and died at his home at Summerside on April 5, 1905. He was a son of John Scott McLeod, a native of Scotland, whose father died in his native land, the widowed mother then coming to Prince Edward Island and locating at Dun- stafinage. where Alex McLeod now resides. John Scott McLeod followed farming and took an active part in political work, being public spirited and progressive in his atti— tude toward public maters.
