who lives with her, is also unmarried and lived with her parents up to the time of their death. The tenth child in order of birth was Andrew who died in Scotland at the age of two years. William, the young- est of the family, who is still living on the old homestead at St. Peter's Road, was born in December, 1834. and was married and be- came the father of eight children.
Robert Cairns, the father of these chil- dren, during his lifetime was considered one of the leading and substantial citizens of his locality and enjoyed to an eminent degree the esteem and good will of all who knew him. He was indefatigable in his energy, practical in his methods and absolutely fair in his dealing with his fellow men, enjoying at all timesan excellent reputation for sturdy integrity and foresight.
ROBINSON WARREN, a leading merchant at North River. Queens county. was born at this place on August 22, 1851, the son of John P. and Ann Winnifred Warren. The father was a native of the Island and here followed farming all his life, his death oc- curing in 1874. The paternal grandfather, William Warren. was a native of England and in early life became a sailor, eventually attaining command of the vessel. He set- tled on Prince Edward Island in an early day and won the respect of all who knew him.
Robinson \Varren received a good prac tical common school education and upon attaining mature years followed the pursuit of agriculture until about 1885, when he engaged in a general mercantile business at North River, in which he has since contin- ued with a gratifying degree of success. His

store and residence are located on an eighth acre of land, near the North River bridge. about four and one-half miles from Char- lottetown. and here he keeps a well selected general line of goods such as is demanded by the local trade. Mr. \Varren has served as postmaster at North River during the last twenty years and as justice of the peace for three years.
Mr. \Varren has been twice married, first to Miss Ellen Furgeson, the daughter of James Furgeson. a farmer of the Island. and second, to Miss Sarah P. Carter, 3 daughter of William and Jane (Pollard) Carter. the former a native of England and the latter of Prince Edward Island. Mr. Warren is the father of three children. Mabel B., John P.,and Tillie, who is the wife of \Villiam Dockindortf. A man of sterling qualities of character and pleasing person- ality, Mr. Warren has won and retains the respect and good will of all who know him.
DAVID W. WHITE is a native son of Prince Edward Island. having been born on May 10. 1865, the son of Clement and Ellen (Driscoll) White. The father was a native of the Island and was a shipbuilder at Char- lottetown during the most of his active life. The paternal grandfather. William White. who was born at Cornwall, England, came to Prince Edward Island in 1803, settling on a piece of land in Lot 32, known as Point York, this land being now in the possession of the subject. Clement D. was the father of eight children, Henry. Clement, James, David, Lemuel, Clarinda, Mary and Lois.
