He is also interested to some extent in trotting horses and dairy farming ;- all—in-all he has been fairly successful in all his enterprises and is highly regarded by all who know him.

HUGH CURRIE, a highly respected citi- zen and successful business man of Peake's Station, Lot 38, was born at West River, Queens county, Prince Edward Island, and is a son of Duncan Currie, who came from Colonsay, Argyleshire, Scotland, with his parents, about 1825. they bearing the names of Archibald and Anne (Graham) Currie. They located at West River, where the grandfather died in 1899, at the age Of eighty-four years. The subject’s mother, who bore the maiden name of Margaret McMil- lan, was a native Of Invemesshire, Scotland, and a daughter of John and Christina (Mc- Phee) McMillan, who lived at Murray Har- bour, Prince Edward Island.

Mr. Currie married Miss Annie Clark, a daughter Of John Clark, now deceased. who during his lifetime was an extensive and successful farmer and shipbuilder at Clarktown. He married Miss Matilda Mutch, a native of Lot 48. To the subject and his wife have been born four children,

namely: Hammond, Walter, Lloyd and Harry Vernon.

HON. ROBERT MOONEY, deceased, late of Lot 35, Queens county, and who during his lifetime was recognized as one of the leading and influential citizens of this sec- tion, was born in Ireland in 1803, and died in 1884, at the age of eighty-one years. His father, Henry Mooney, who was a native Of County Monaghan, Ireland, was a man Of influence and intelligence and married a Miss McIntyre, a daughter of Phillip McIn- tyre. also a native of County Monaghan, Ireland.
