The subject's father was born at Orwel, Queens county, and was the son of John Macdonald , who had large shipbuilding interests at Orwell, where he employed hun¬ dreds of men. His father, the great-grand¬ father of the subject, was Charles Macdon ¬ ald, a native of Scotland . The subject's maternal grandfather, Alex Macdonald , who lived at Glenroy , was an extensive farmer. The maternal grandmother bore the maiden name of Jeanette Macdonald , a sister of Bishop Beman Macdonald, the second bishop of Prince Edward Island . The maternal great-grandfather was also a native of Glen¬ roy, Queens county, and there owned a large farm. He came from Scotland with Capt. John Macdonald 's colony. The subject of this sketch was educated in the district schools and attended St. Dun- stan's College, at Charlottetown , and then entered the medical department of McGill University, at Montreal, where he received his degree as Doctor of Medicine in 1902. He then entered unon active practice at Mt. Stewart, but in 1904 came to Souris and has since remained in the practice here. He is the possessor of a wide and accurate knowledge of the properties of medicine and their relations to the healing of diseases and keeps in close touch with the latest ad¬ vances in his profession. Bernard Creamer , Sr., was born at sea while his parents were go¬ ing to Prince Edward Island . His father, John Creamer , who married a Miss Mc- Guire , of Ireland, served twenty-seven years in the British army, being present at the his¬ toric conflict at Waterloo.
