Pupils planning on writing the Grade X Entrance Examinations for Prince of Wales College were instructed in these small schools, and a great many were successful. Later, Grades IX and X were removed to Souris High School after it was built in 1954. In
1961 the name'Souris High School" was changed to "Souris Regional High School".
Consolidated Schools were built in different areas, and in the fall of 1967 six districts decided to form The Eastern Kings
Consolidated Unit viz. East Baltic, Red Point, Kingsboro, South Lake, Elmira, and East Point.
In 1968, Lakeville and North Lake entered, and in 1969 Priest Pond.
On March 3, 1969 a shuttle system of buses was discussed
and as a result, three buses were hired each to serve a group of three schools.
An agreement was made in August 1968, and finalized in January 1969 to buy land from Mrs. James Jardine, Kingsboro, for the erection of a Consolidated School, but, so far, the "go ahead" for the school has not been given by the Government.
