INTRODUCTION

In compliance with the wishes of the Provincial Board of the Prince ldward Island Women’s Institute and realizing the endeavours being made by the Prince Edward Island Heritage Foundation to preserve the listory of early days in the various communities, the members of the Xugustine Cove Women’s Institute, which was organized in 1939, have

written this book to record information on early settlers and other his— orical items of interest.

The work was begun in January, 1972 and was completed for our ,istrict Centennial Project.

The appreciation of the members is expressed to all who supplied nformation and pictures for this history and who helped in any way in he compiling of this history.

Any errors and omissions are unintentional and regrettable.
