INTRODUCTION In compliance with the wishes of the Provincial Board of the Prince idward Island Women's Institute and realizing the endeavours being aade by the Prince Edward Island Heritage Foundation to preserve the iistory of early days in the various communities, the members of the Augustine Cove Women's Institute, which was organized in 1939, have ratten this book to record information on early settlers and other his- oncal items of interest. . . . ,The work was begun in January, 1972 and was completed for our istrict Centennial Project.
