Burpee married Norine Thomas. They lived in Tryon , later rrwir. to St. John , N .B. where they resided until his death in 1965. Their on. daughter, Arlene, is married to Jack Sorensen . They live in Tryon at have three sons and one daughter: Kerry , Dale, Jacqueline and Barris . Catherine (Katy) married Lome Mabey and lives in St. John, They had no family. Milton lives in Summerside with his wife the former Velda I laney. They have a family of six as follows: Grace, Denzil, Lois, Rul Darcy and Sherry. Georgie is married to John Dillon and lives in Charlottetown . Tt Dillon's have seven children: Earl, Shirley, Robert, George, MargareJ Joan and Patricia. John married Margaret Bonvie . They had a daughter, Helen and son, Daniel. They have two daughters, Juanita and Sheila. thi THE CARRUTHER'S Thomas Carruthers , a native of Dumfries Shire Parish, Scothn me We Otl Mu with his wife Elizabeth Lait and six of their seven children emigrated - this country in 1820. They landed at Carleton Point and built a home ffl themselves a few hundred yards from the shore directly east of the \ re j ent Borden breakwater. Tradition has it that the name of the ship <19C which they crossed was the "Hector" and that she was lost at sea on bbor next voyage. Being God-fearing people and not wishing to be buried inbor strange land with nothing to mark his grave, Mr. Carruthers brought vilMa: him from Scotland , a tombstone. After his death, at the age of 80 yeaiCoi, in 1851, this stone was erected to mark his grave and may still be seen: the graveyard directly behind the present Free Church of Scotland A Cape Traverse.
