John Wesley Leard, who settled at Augustine Cove, was a gre;( grandson of the above Samuel. His father and his grandfather also b0 the name Samuel. John Wesley was born in 1841. Fred spent the greater part of his life in Western Canada. H .‘ wife was Jennie MacEachern of New Brunswick. They had three chit g dren: Margaret, Ralph and Forrest. He died in Vancouver in 1971.

Lily Mae was married to Holdsworth Bastow and lived in Mass: , chusetts. They had two sons, William and John. 0

Johannah married Harry Clark, a blacksmith. They spent all ‘7h91 years in Augustine Cove. They had a son, Earle and a daughter, Rut: Earle left the province When a young man and settled in Spokane, WaslT ington. He was three times married and had one daughter, Johainal ,2 Ruth married Oswald Lowther of North Carleton. They had a fami‘yl four: Wanda (Mrs. Oscar Campbell), Hazen, Harry and Kenneth who WE drowned in 1944 at the early age of twenty years.

Elizabeth Jane —- it is not known whom she married.

George Washington (1866-1937) who was the eldest of his furl ' spent all his life in Augustine Cove. He married ElizabethIFarrzrl Hampton in 1895, and they raised a family of eight children: Blaic Holdsworth, Emily, Luella, Fred, Vera, Winnie and Reta.

Blanche was born January 27, 1896. In 1917 she‘imagrried R < 3 Boulter. They lived in several different localities before settling in Al _. ' ustine Cove in 1946. To them were born three daughters and70ne SO, Alberta died at the age of two months; Frances, Austin and Vert Frances, born April 31, 1921, was twice married, first toiJohn ,Grng' 21 " they have five children: Alberta, Robert, Lorne, Bernice and Valerie. S ' later married Harvey Partridge and lives in Toronto. Austin (see 8'50 " elsewhere), Vertis, who was born June 25, 1924 is married to Daniel N‘s Innis of Traveller’s Rest. The couple live in Toronto and have thl’ ’4 daughters: Lynn, Susan and Beverley.

Holdsworth, born July 2, 1898 went to the United States as. . young man and resided there until 1966 when he returned to the land,l 3. his birth. He is now retired and living in Augustine Cove with his Wlf‘ ' the former Mabel Wadman Newsome.
