The Lea's had twc hildren, a son Vernon, was accidentally killed in a highway accident in' 47 at the age of nineteen years; their daughter, Nancy R.N ., is now Mr Vernon Rushton of Toronto . (See story on Cathy elsewhere). Edward, the second son of Neil MacFadyen and Annie Gillis , was boi in Augustine Cove on June 24, 1882, and spent all his years there. He aught school for several years and, in 1921 married Priscille Car- rut ;rs, (born May 3, 1896) of Borden. He, along with his cousin, John B.i '"acFadyen, was one of the pioneers in the seed potato industry. In the arly years when potato growing was coming into prominence, he m one of the largest growers on the Island, growing from 100 -175 m 3 per year. This was quite remarkable as during some of those years "hi se" power only was used. His health failed him quite early in life and hi assed away in 1943- They had two sons and three daughters: Wendell, born July 5, 1922, attended Prince of Wales College for fS years and, on the death of his father, he and his brother, Gerald, ta over the family farm. In 1945 he married Grace Webster and to ■ i were born: Sandra, Edward (Ted), Joanne and David. Another di :hter was stillborn. Sandra, who was born September 29, 1946, at- ten }d P.W.C . for four years and then entered nursing at the Victoria Gei ral Hospital in Halifax, graduating in 1968. In 1972 she obtained hM B.N . degree from Dalhousie University and is now on the teaching of St . Joseph's Hospital in Toronto . Edward (Ted) born July 29, 19? attended P.W.C . for one year and the Nova Scotia Agricultural Col¬ li in Truro for two years. He is married to Dawn Thomson of North T| m. They have a daughter Andrea, and a son Scott. (The seventh gen- m on.) Joanne was born November 28, 1952. She attended U.P.E.I. , grad¬ ual ig with her B.Sc . in 1973. This year she is returning to study for *# B. Ed . David, who was born July 27, 195$ is presently attending E | iewood Regional High School. Gerald, born September 19, 1926 is in partnership with his brother ill arming operations. He attended P.W.C . for two years, and in 1950 «■ ried Joyce Rodd of Charlottetown . Their family consists of three !■•-: Donald, William and Neil. Donald, born October 31, 1950 attended p-| C. for two vears before entering Dalhousie University from which Je obtained his B-Sc. in 1972, and his B. Ed , in 1973. In August, 1973 '•■'named Canda Waddell of Crapaud and is presently teaching at Engle- wood Regional High School. William was born June 15, 1952 and has completed his junior year at U.P.E.I. Neil , born March 8, 1958 is presently attending Regional High. 8 Eileen, born July 8. 1924, took a commerce course at P.W.C . and Jked at secretarial work before marrying Raymond Hambly of Sher¬ wood in 1946. They have four daughters and one son. Donna ( Mrs. Gor- V Carr ), Judy ( Mrs. Percy Fraser ), Karen ( Mrs. Ronnie Jones ), Janice an« Rodney. Lorna, born on February 11, 192$ married George Nicholson of ^"apaud in 1950. Previous to her marriage, she had taught school and iso worked as a secretary.
