His wife was Elizabeth Call- eck 1837-1914) of Tryon . They had eleven children, four of whom died i in ;ncy due to diptheria. Their seven surviving children were: Alice, Me Lucy, Robbie, Carrie, George and Albert. Alice married a Mr. Dillingham and lived in Miami, Florida . Elsie became Mrs. Fred Scurrah of Boston. Lucy married Webster Howatt of Augustine Cove (see Howatt isto .-). Robbie, Mrs, Fred Blanchard , was a registered nurse. She lived * ton for many years. His first wife was Flo Scranton and they alone son, Arthur, who was killed in World War I, and one daughter, era who died in infancy. His second wife was the former Mary Mooney } .Gotland and to them were born one daughter and two sons: Ruth, '■ and Ralph. Ruth was born in 1920. After completion of grade school she sub- gently studied at Molten's Ladies' College in Toronto , Robinson's Busi- ■ College in Moncton and University of London, England . She was tea- employed in Ottawa for a time. While there she enlisted in the ti l'ci anc^ served overseas for two years, returning to Canada in 1945. 1946 she entered Law School at the University of British Columbia.
