Benjamin, who was born in 1830, continued to live on the ho stead and married Grace Warren (1831- 1873) of Burlington, on Ma ,. 25,1858. They had eleven children, three of whom died in infancy ,;- surviving children were: Minnie, George Edward, Margaret Alice, 01.: erine (Kate), Mary Jane (May), John and Harry. Benjamin, for m years, operated a saw and grist mill on the site of the mill dam a' A ustine Cove. In 1900, he and his son, Harry, built a new hous<,1 occupied by Bryce Clark. there until his death in 1936, at which time his son, Vernal, tooco and continued farming until 1969, when, due to ill health, he s<ld farm to its present owner, George Murphy.

Jean, b01n December 29, 1907, taught school for three yea s ' on August 7,1929 married Lorne Carruthers (1905— 1958) of Aug us! Cove. They had a family of eight children. Vernal was born on March 29, 1912. In 1942 he married Ge cal Darby, a school teacher from Summerside. They have a family of. daughters and two sons: Dianne, Barbara, Harry and John. Dianne, Febiuary 28, 1945, attended P. W. C. and worked as a stenographe f, few years before marrying Kenneth Haywood of Charlottetown ‘, have two daughters, Lisa and Nancy. Barbara was born on July 22, 11 She obtained her BA. degree from P.WC.. in 1969, and married 3‘ Younker of Charlottetown the same year. She is presently teachm the Eliot River Elementary school in Cornwall. Harry was bornE ep' ber 19, 1953. After graduating from Englewood Regional High Sc} 00' attended U.P. E.I for two years. He is presently attending the In sity of Calgary. John, born July 25, 1955, is presently attending ED!

Doris born May 6th, 1915, married Vance Dixon of North T? in 1941. She resided there until her death in 1971. To them were two sons, Eric and Carl.

Grace, born June 28th, 1919, taught school for four years 139‘ entering the field of nursing, obtaining her R. N. in 1945. In Novefll 1945, she married Wendell MacFadyen. They had a family of’6 daughters, one of whom was stillborn, and two sons: Sandra,1h Ed“ (Ted), Joanne and David. (See MacFadyen history.)
