The [resbyterian Church was afterwards moved to Central lot 16, and the United Baptist Church was built in 1876 in Belmont district. The first Belmont School was built on the property formerly owned by Albert Fraser , on the Opposite side of the road from the dwelling built j>y his grandfather, Mr. David Fraser . Mr. Jas Simpson moved to the district in 1871 from Cascumpeque . At that time there was no school. I few pupils were going to Central Lot 16 and the school was being used as a dwelling house. lr. Simpson at once set to work and had the school re-established by giving a plot of land at the front of his farm for the purpose.
