yAfter this the Belmont church worked in cooperation jwith the church at Summerside, to become later, ‘part of a field comprising Summerside and Bedeque. The minister at Bedeque serves Belmont with an Toccasional Visit from the residing pastor of Summerside. In recent years the church has been completely refinished inside in a lovely bright natural wood finish. The Hammond organ has been installed, a beautiful communion table in memory of Mr. 8 Mrs. John MacLeod placed there by their family adorns the front of the church. A new carpet covers the entire platform and the center aisle, adding much beauty to the interior. Other memorials and gifts placed in the church include
the following: a stained glass window in memory
of Hazel and Campsie Yeo from their brothers Clifford, ‘ Earle, Robert MacLaurin and sister Erma Best; another similar window in memory of Alvin Yeo, placed there by his wife Hazel; offering plates by Harry and Erma Best in memory of their parents; a flower stand in memory of Hazel Yeo by Mr. 8 Mrs. Eddy Clark and Mr. and Mrs. lvan Green; a wall tapestry donated by Mrs. Alice Yeo Patterson; a Pulpit cloth from Hazel Yeo, a picture of the Christ by Rev. Ralph Simmons and a pulpit bible from Rev. Roosevelt Winchester. All these gifts and memorials have been dedicated to the glory of G0d and in memory of respected loved ones.
The church is proud to think that a number 0f men have gone out from the Belmont church to Carry on the work of the Master. Among these can be found the names of Rev. Edwin Simpson, Rev. R. Roosevelt Winchester and Rev. Major R. Simmons. The church may have been small but the influence that it has exerted can never be measured.
As one looks over the long list of members that at one time or another had their names on the church roll, there are many prominent ones. Certain names appear again and again through-out the minutes, which show their great interest and the Work that they have done so faithfully and so Wei]. From this church have gone out people that represent many professions as well as those who rePresent the ministry. Those who still remain have not lost their ardor nor interest as the Belmont Un'ted Baptist Church still carries on after almost a CentUry of work, for the salvation of mankind,
