BEUVDNT WOVEN’S MISSIONARY SOCIETY
The first Womens Missionary Society of the Belmont Baptist Church was organized by Miss. A.A. Wadman, Provincial Secretary of the P.E.l. Baptist Association on April 29, lSli.
The following were the first officers elected:
President - Mrs. Judson Simpson
Vice-President - Mrs. Hubert Crossman
Secretary - Miss. Campsie MacLaurin
Treasurer — Miss. Laura Fraser
Auditor - Mrs. Matthew Gamble
Agent for Tidings - Miss. Hazel_MacLaurin
Executive Committee - Mrs. Samuel Simpson - Mrs. Mary Birch
Some time after i9l6 the Society disbanded but was re-organized in October, 1929, with Mrs. Judson Simpson as President and Mrs. John Barrett, Secretary-Treasurer.
This Society has remained active through the intervening years and has raised a considerable amount of money for Foreign and Home Missions.
At the present time the Society has nine
members with Mrs. A. S. Johnson as President and Mrs. Budd Birch, Secretary-Treasurer.
