Major MacLeod bought this land from his father, John MacLeod in 1934 and built his house and a blacksmith shop where he did the local blacksmith work. Major also did mechanical work and was always ready and willing to help his neighbours and friends with their mechanical problems. He also worked as a carpenter at Canadian Forces Base, St. Eleanors, from 1950 until his death in l971.

Major married Marilla Day from Wellington and they had one daughter Edna and one son Carl. Edna married Walter Wadden,_and they have one . daughter Rita. Carl married Linda Birch. He is employed at MacNeill Motors and resides in Summerside. Linda is on the teaching staff of St. Eleanors elementary school. Rita first married Robert Campbell and they have a son Christopher. Later, Rita married Arnold White, and they reSIde in Montreal.
