HON. A. W. MATHESON
History has a healthy habit of highlighting the hap« penings that mark the progress of men and cities down through the corridors of time. This year the City of
Charlottetown is observing such an occasion — its 100th birthday.
It was in this historic city of Charlottetown that the first meeting was held during which the Confederation of the Canadian Provinces was discussed. Since then this Capital City of the Province has been known as “The
Cradle of Confederation”.
On behalf of the Government of Prince Edward
Island, I extend congratulations to the City of Charl.0tte~
town on its accomplishments from 1855 to 1955.
W
HON. A. W. MATHESON, Premier
Prince Edward Island.
