The people of Summerside have always been keenly in- terested in the progress of our Capital City and now join with all the citizens of Charlottetown in the celebration of its 100th

birthday.

Summerside too has always endeavoured to keep pace with other progressive municipalities and today Summerside boasts of the fact that it is the largest Town in the Provmce hav1ng

been incorporated in 1875. Since that time, as it grew in popu- lation to approximately 8000, the Town of Summerside has

written a very interesting history and today it is regarded as a tourist resort “second to none”. Ideally located on beautiful

Bedeque Bay on the South and Richmond Bay on the North, the geographic position of Summerside is such as to offer un— limited facilities for the convenience and enjoyment of tourists. From the point of View of scenic beauty, Summerside is known as the “Town of Trees”, and possesses one of the most beautiful parks and playgrounds to be found in many Towns much

greater in size.

Its architecture is both modern and ancient which not only bespeaks of progress but also suggests that certain tranquility which so many people enjoy.
