scope right up to the present. It is recognized today as the city’s greatest annual summer attraction and is one of the best harness racing tracks in North America.

The Charlottetown Golf Club was organized in 1893 and proceeded at once to develop the Belvedere Links which are situated three miles from the heart of the city and which boasts of one of the best eighteen hole courses in Canada.

Hockey has always played an important role in the athletic devel— opment of the city of Charlottetown and old timers will remember the Maritime Championship Victoria and Abegweit hockey teams of the early 1900’s who skated their way to fame and glory across the nation.

The old Hillsborough Boat Club which has since changed its name to The Charlottetown Yacht Club has kept boating and water sports of all kind alive in this city during the many years since its inception.
