The first church built on the Island was St. Pauls, Charlottetown (Anglican). First regular minister of the Methodst Church — Rev. John Bulpitt.
St. Andrews Church (Roman Catholic) erected at St. Andrews by the first Bishop of Charlottetown —— Rt. Rev. Angus Bernard MacEachern.
St. James Church, Charlottetown (Presbyterian) opened.
The Old (Protestant) Cemetery on Elm Avenue was consecrated on October 12, but the first interment was supposed to be in 1789.
The first Church exclusively Church of England in P. E. I. was St. John’s Church, St. Eleanor’s.
The first Methodist Church Charlottetown, completed.
The Baptist Association here had its first inception in 1827, and its first Church was buit in 1836.
The second St. Paul’s Church (usually known as Old St. Paul’s) was consecrated by the Bishop on August 21.
Auxiliary Bible Society (a Branch of the British & Foreign) was established on December 13.
Diocesan Church Society originated Oct. 1. Was incorporated in 1852.
The Old Roman Catholic Cemetery on Longworth Avenue was consecrated by the Bishop of Charlottetown on July 18.
St. Dunstan’s Cathedral opened. (This was the second wooden structure, and held the 'l'own Clock).

The Free Church Presbytery was constituted in Charlottetown on 20th July.
