2k was well a.nd truly laid not only for their further acquisition of knowledge and skills, but also for an increasing capacity to contribute significantly to the fullness of life of those with whom they mingled. High ideals as well as sound academic standards have alw-ys motivated the teachers in this school. So during the past ninety years this school, first as the Wesleyan academy and a little later as Prince Street School, has established a splendid tradition. Scholarship has been the keynote: and this, coupled with a broad cultural ^nd physical programme, has provided opportunity for boys and girls to grow mentally, physically and spiritually, and to live in reasonable harmony with their fellows. We are justly proud of the initiative, imagination and "forward look" evident in the proposals and requests made by Principals of this school and recorded in Minutes of School Board Meetings. Not only did these Principals submit recommendations and requests "pacing the way" in progressive - small "p" - education, but in most c^.ses they asked permission to raise money to pay for the things they wanted or the projects they proposed under¬ taking. They did not wait for the Board to "foot the bill". This, of course, implies they had the wholehearted co-operation of the Staff, for it is only through Staff support - active and moral - that such endeavors can succeed. :
