FAMILIES OF CLINTON Property now owned by Bruce Clark Jacob Fyfe, son of William Fyfe Sr. and Jean Arthur Fyfe emigrated from Scotland to Stanley Bridge in 1820. He was a brother of John and Robert. Jacob married a Miss Dignan fron , and, having no children of their own, adopted sev¬ eral children. Jacob Fyfe owned the farm which bordered on Robert Cak- well's, Margate , now owned by Phillip Henderson . About seventy- two years ago, he retired and moved to Kensington . He sold the farm to George Woodside . George Woodside , 1870-1954, was the son of Samuel Wooc - side, 1842-1927 and Mary Ann Ross Woodside , 1842-1936. Be married Elizabeth Davison , Burlington , 1865-1948. They had the fol lowing family: Edith, 1891; Irene, 1893; Elora, 1894; Esther, 1895- 1950; Eva, 1897; Joseph 1899; Leaman, 1902; Jessie, 1904; Ern¬ est, 1906; Stanley, 1906; Carmen, 1908; Roy, 1910-1944; Waldo l, 1917. A daughter Laura died in infancy. Edith married Bud Crasford and they lived in Charlottetow i . They had five children. He died and she married Raymond Gari- hum, Charlottetown . They had six children. Esther married Walter Williams , Graham's Road. They hf d two children. Joseph farmed with his father for some years, then moved to Margate to the farm now owned by Ralph Adams . Later, 1 e moved to Kensington . Joseph married Janie Clark born 1895, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. George Clark , Kensington . They have two daughters, a son died in infancy. Roy married Hilda Cole , Spring Valley , described elsewhere. Waldon married Dorothy Woodside , Tryon . They had five children. She died in 1959 and he re-married in the U.S.A. They have one child. Irene, Elora, Eva, Jessie, Leaman and Carmen lived in tlie U.S.A. Stanley and Ernest lived abroad and are deceased. Before living on the Jacob Fyfe farm, George Woodside lived for a time where Don Taylor now lives. He purchased the property owned by Moses Woodside in 1914, and they lived in this home till 1920. In 1922 he sold this farm to Hugh Glover . About 1923, George built the house that now stands on this farm. When George retired, he and his wife moved to Kensington . This was in 1944 and he sold the farm to Bruce Clark in 1945. —36—
