This farm was formerly owned by James Somen who lived on the , later by Samuel Woodside , anl now owned by James MacKay . John Dunning had their house b? the Creek moved up to the top of the hill and the house now standing there was built in 1913. Mrs. John Dunning was a dress¬ maker and died in March of that year. George Brookins , the grandson, worked this farm. He married Nellie McCoubrey in 1923 and they had four children: Aubrey, Ella, Elizabeth and George Aubrey, born 1929, married Millicent Stewart , Tyne Valle;'. They have two children and live in Kensington . Ella married Rev. Bruce Roberts , a United church minister Elizabeth married Wilfred Waugh , Wilmot. George Brookins sold the farm and moved to Kensington in 1937. He will be remembered as a dealer and grower of potatoes in the days when machinery was not as modern as today, and i ;o it provided work for a great number of people. MacKay and Maria (Evans) MacKay bought the farm from George Brookins in 1937 and also bought the John Watts farm known as the Humphrey place. The number of acres in this farm is now 158.
