Donald Pickering Donald, born 1946, took over his father's farm in 1972. Farm Home of Mrs. James Graham and Laura Somers James Harding occupied the farm bordering on the Glydon rm, now owned by Donald Pickering . He was married to Mar- ret Somers who was a sister of George Somers who had emi- ated from Scotland . Mr. Harding 's health failed and he was an alid for years. He died in 1916. His wife had died in 1900 and r nephew Robert Somers , son of George Somers , took over the rm. Mary Ann married Dawson Cole , Black Horse, P.E.I. Thomas married Martha Currie , Clifton and they lived in Ken - lgton. Their son was killed in World War I. The house on this operty is over a hundred years old but is not the original one, 'vhich still stands at the rear of the one now lived in. The family of the original George Somers who came from Gotland lived in Graham's Road. His son William married Caro¬ le Harding, daughter of James Harding , Harding's Creek, and ley lived in the Harding home. Caroline lived only a short time md he re-married Edwina Durant , Margate . Later, they moved 0 New Brunswick . After Robert Somers ' wife died, he married Mary Ann Cook , raham's Road, 1851-1942. They had two daughters: Margaret, '°rn 1894, and Laura, born 1897.
