The William Somers Property
East of Mr. MacDowell’s cottage on the New London Rozd, William Somers, 1877-1968, son of Robert Somers and Mary Ann (Dunning) Somers, inherited a small acreage of land belonging to the Dunning farm and moved the house formerly owned by Dan Dunning from the shore and established a home here. He Hill‘- ried Jane Carr, 1880—1971, of Clinton.‘ They had the following family: Ralph, Harry, Dora and Ivan. ,
Ralph, 1902—1937, was killed in an accident in Wyoming, US A.\
Harry, born 1910, married Alba Currie and they live in C if- ton. They have five children.
Ivan, born 1923, married Hazel Paynter. They live in Carle :on Siding and have two children.
Dora, born 1905, is unmarried. She lived with her father and mother until their passing and, in 1972, she sold her house and part of the land to Rev. Mr. MacDowell and the remainder of the land to Mr. Joseph Medici, New York City, NY. She is now residing in the community with relatives.
Property Now Owned by Mrs. Elsie Andrews
George Somers, 1864-1941, son of Robert Somers and Mary Ann (Dunning) Somers also inherited a small acreage belonging to the Dunning farm where he built the house that now stands there. He married Laura Graham, 1882-1958, also of Clinton, and they had the following family: Elsie, May, Vera, Ira and Elmer-
May, 1905—1923; Vera, 1910—1934; Ira, 1915-1962.
Elmer, born 1918, married Verna Wall, Granville and they live in New Annan. They have three children.
Elsie born 1903, married James Andrews, Mayfield and ihei had the following family: Edward, George, Eileen and Fred. Ml“ Andrews died, and Elsie then came to live with her parents.
Edward married Dollie Cole, Spring Valley. They live in Mal“ gate with their two sons and have a museum in the old carriage
shop.
Eileen married George Arsenault. They live in C‘harlottetoVV17 , and have three children.
George is unmarried, living at home. He is a carpenter.
Fred married Linda Bernard, Clifton. They have tw0 childrel" ” and live in Bunbury.
