William Heaney and son Harold purchased the Paynter pr( ‘10- erty in 1968 and it is now occupied by Kenneth Heaney, son of William Heaney. He is married to Nancy Tuplin, New Annan, and
they have a daughter Lynn.
Harry Marks
William Marks Sr., Long River, married Christina Whiteheid, 1812-1890, who was the daughter of William Whitehead Sr. Their son William Marks Jr. married Ella Dunning, daughter of J(hn Dunning and Elizabeth (Arthur) Dunning. They lived near :he shore of Harding’s Creek and had two sons: Harry and one vho died in infancy. This house was moved to the main highway in 1923 to a lot of land purchased from Leslie Paynter.
Harry, born 1891, married Orentha Marks, born 1900, Ling River and they now reside in this home.
Clinton Heights
Clinton Heights was built in 1964 on property acquired from Roy Paynter by Robert H. Rankin of Summerside. The farm east of Clinton Heights was bought from the £0" ernment of P.E.I. in 1877 for the sum of $153.90 by William R116)" 1823-1911. He was married to Maria MacGowan who died in 1905, They had the following family: George, Dan, Sarah, Mary ant Willie. William was also a blacksmith.
Mary was drowned on a sailing trip to Saint John.
Sarah never married.
Dan was a bachelor and lived on this farm with his brothe: George.
George, 1874-1933, married Matilda MacLeod, 1876—1958, GT?" ham’s Road. They had a son Willard, 1905—1955, and a daughte' Anna born 1909.
