In 1970 he sold the farm to Ronald MacArthur, Summersiie‘ and it is now known as Bermac Farms, specializing in raising race horses.
William Cotton married Janet Crozier, Kelvin and they have a
daughter Susan. In 1970 they built the home where they now re- side. Billy works at carpentry.
Edna Chalmers
A lot of land was purchased from Elmer Cotton by the Mis ies Marion, born 1894, and Edna Chalmers, born 1902, of Quin2y, Mass. They are daughters of David Chalmers, formerly of Mt. Stewart and Christine Arthur, Hopedale, who had emigrated to the USA. In 1958-59 they had their retirement home bult.
Marion died in 1973. ._ Property now owned by Bruce Clark and Higgins Bros.
Alexander B. McKay
Alexander B. McKay, 1858-1940, was the son of William lic- Kay, 1823-1897, New London and Elizabeth McKay, 1826—1i94, who was born in Sutherlandshire, Scotland. They were marrie( at
New London by George McKay, J .P., in 1848.
_ Alexander married Rachel Emily Cameron, Long River. She died in 1944.
They had the following family: Margaret Bell, William, Ion ald, Stanley, Marnie, Stirling, Bessie, Reginald and Jennie.
Margaret Bell, 1883-1921, married Ira MacLeod, Springbrwok They had one daughter.
William, 1885-1962, was a bachelor.
» Donald (Dan), 1887-1971, married Vera Brown, Graham’s Road. They lived in Springbrook and later in Kensington.
Stanley, born 1889, married Georgia Whiteside, Alberta. They had one son.
Mamie, born 1891, never married, is now living with her niece Mrs. Alex Douglas, in Kensington.
Sterling, 1894-1918, was killed in action in France in World War I.
Bessie, born 1896, never married and resides in Victoria, BC'
,. Reginald, 1898-1970, served in World Wars I and II and taughf in military school in Antigonish. He died in Ontario.
