Duncan MacEwen sold this property to Mortimer Howatt in 1899 and moved to Kensington . He died in 1913. The Howa-ts lived there for five years, selling it in 1904 to Alexander M;.c- Kay. See Eric Heaney property. Alexander died in 1923 and lis wife, Mary Campbell MacKay died in 1935. They had a family of six: Sadie, William, Percy, Harry, Alvelda and Bertram. Sadie married Percival Jordan in the U.S.A. They have fcur children. She was born in 1890. William, born 1894, married Mazie Peddy . They had th;ee children and resided in Florida . He is now deceased. Percy, born 1897, also deceased, married Helen Dickson . Trey lived in Pittsburg, They had no family. Harry, born 1895, died in infancy. Alvelda, born 1899, married David Finlayson , U.S.A. They 1 ad no family. Bertram, born 1900, remained on the homestead. He married Marion Heaney , 1909-1939, in 1928. They had five children: \'ril- lard, Mary, Weirum , Ola and Alan. Willard, born 1929, is a medical doctor and married Mar on Halverson, R.N. They have five children and reside in N w castle, N.B. Mary, born 1931, a school teacher, married Melville Johnson. They have two children and reside in Ontario . Weirum , born 1932, married Enid Howatt and reside on property formerly owned by David O'Connor — refer. Ola, born 1933, died in infancy. Alan, born 1935, is a medical doctor on the staff of the Prince County Hospital, Summerside . He married Nancy MacMillan and they have six children. In 1945 Bert married . He works at carpentry as well as operating his farm. Property Now Owned by Weirum MacKay The O'Connor family along with the Sullivans and Heaneys came from in the early 1800's. John O'Connors father settled on this property and died in 1849. John, 1837-192* who was only 12 years old at his father's death, operated tW farm.
