The Property Now Owned by William Heaney Daniel Heaney emigrated from Acton, north of Ireland, in 1 340. His wife was a Miss Abbott who died in 1858. Three sisters t ime out with him. Before leaving Ireland, he was a constable i id came to St. Eleanors where he was a jailer for a year. He i len moved to Clinton and took up residence on this property, hey had the following family: Robert, Thomas, Henry, Alice, 1 ora and Jacob. Henry, 1834-1904, lived on this homestead till his death. Alice married a Mr. Champion . Dora, 1830-1902, married a Mr. Fyfe . Jacob died, at the age of 19. Robert Heaney Robert, 1840-1927, was a stone mason and a shoe-maker, as was also his brother Thomas. They would go to homes in the s rrounding area and make shoes for the entire family. Robert was born at sea. He married Harriet Pickering , 1846- l*il7. They had eleven children, one of whom died in infancy: J cob, Janie, Belinda, Gertrude, Annie, Laura, Alfred, William, i eta and Wesley. Jacob, 1867-1947, married Georgina Sutherland , 1866-1950, Charlottetown . Jacob was a Methodist and later a United church minister. He preached in Charlottetown , Cornwall and . Ste¬ phen, N.B ., where he lived when he retired. They had two sons. Janie married George Glover , Norboro . They had thirteen children. Belinda married John T. Dignan , Woodstock . They had four children. Gertrude married William MacLeod , Graham's Road. They had seven children. William died at the age of 17. Annie married Frank Day , Norboro . They had nine children. Laura married William Sharpe , Norboro . They had two sons. Alfred and Etta described elsewhere. —87—
