married Donad McLean, and resided in Crapaud until her death in October 1942.
Caroline married William Platts.
. Elizabeth became the wife of Richard Best, and settled on a farm in what 1s now Westmoreland. Three of her descendants at present re— alde 1n Crapaud. After Mr. Best’s death, she married John Hodgson.
Fannie married Mark Inman. Their great grandson, Willard Roger— son, res1des 1n Victoria.
Margaret became the wife of John Rogerson. Their grandson, John Rogerson, Jr., resides in Hampton.
Martha married Daniel Fowler, and later became the wife of Thomas Thorne of New York.
James married Anne Warren, daughter of Joseph Warren, North Rive-r, and settled on a farm in Westmoreland, now in possession of Harold Oakes. Of this union were born the following children: Samuel, George, Mary R., Priscilla, James E., Annie, Fannie, Peter, Eliza, Char- lotte, and Warren.
Samuel married Jane Walker. From this marriage there were four children: Frank, Myrtle, Mildred, and Fred.
George married Elizabeth Warren, and settled on a farm in Cra- paud, now in possession of George Stordy. After his retirement he moved to Crapaud Corner. Their children were: Henry, Annie, Ethel and Lottie. Annie married Thomas N. Stordy, and at present resides in this village.
Mary R. became the wife of Donald MacLean, and resided in Cra-
paud. Priscilla was united in marriage with Archie Shaw, also a resident
of Crapaud. James E. married Alice Lowther, and moved to Boston.
Annie and Fannie died in childhood.
Peter married Alice Wadman. They lived in Crapaud where he operated a Saddle and Harness Shop until 1895, when he and his family moved to Charlottetown. He was junior partner in the firm of Saunders and Newsom. Their family consisted of the following children: Loman, Fenton, and Mabel, a retired deaconess, at present residing in Charlotte- town.
Eliza married Charles Yeo, and resided in Summerside. After his death, she returned to Crapaud and became the Wife of Thomas Simmons, being a resident of this community until her death in October 1949. at the age of 89.
Charlotte died in young womanhood.
Warren married Edith Webster of Charlottetown, and lived on the farm given him by his father until 1911, when he moved to Crapaud Village, having purchased the property on which his grandfather, Samuel Newsom, settled when he first came to this country. 0f the original one hundred acres only twelve remained at this time. Mr. Newsom lived in semi-retirement, having an agency for the Prince Edward Island Mutual Fire Insurance Co., and, at the time of his death in 1941, at the age of 84, was President of the Company.
His family consisted of the following: Douglas, who died in infancy, Reginald, who went to Western Canada in 1908. In Calgary he married Beatrice Long, a native of England. Their children are: Jean, Edith (Marianne), and Jack, all married and living in British Columbia. Mary, born in Crapaud, where she lived until 1944, when she moved to Charlotte- town, and has been on the staff of the Public Library in that city since
