Margaret was united in marriage with Heath MacVittie. Their only child, Amy, wife of LeRoy Howat—t, resides in ,Crapaud. Following is their famliyz— Margaret, Miriam, Douglas, Joan, and Allison.
Russell married Alma Myers and became the father of the follow- ing family :— Lyman, John Lord, and Kathleen; none of Whom reside in Crapaud.
Minnie married Harry Howatt. Their only daughter, Elsie, resides in Arlington, Mass.
Bertram married Elsie Alice Wilson. Their family :— Chester, Ruby, Marjorie, Carrie, Heath, Elsie, and Cecil.
Joseph married Grace Inman. Their family, May and Florence, were born in Crapaud, where he and his brother, George, operated a. General Store. He built the house at present in possession of Bruce Gamble. In later years he resided in Victoria.
Nelson married Pleen Clark, and, with their family, Vernon and Inez, resided in Victoria.
Thomas married Jane Leard. Their family, Lloyd and Caroline, reside in Tryon.
George married Margaret Rogerson, and settled on a farm on the Tryon Branch Road. Of this union were born the following children :— T’homas N., William, Ernest, Roy, Grace, Elizabeth, May, and Josephine. Three of these —— Ernest, Roy, and Grace -— at present reside in Crapaud.
Elizabeth became the wife of George Inman, and settled in Lot 16. Their family were:— Fred, Herbert, and May.
Caroline was united in marriage with Cornelius Lowther, and lived on the old William Lowther homestead. They had no family.
9 “THE TROWSDALES”
In the spring of 1817 Joseph Trowsdale, with his wife and family, arrived in Crapaud, along with several other emigrants, who had sailed from Yorkshire, England on “The Valiant.”
His four sons and three daughters were born in England.
Joseph, the eldest, settled on the Sherren road, at the back of the homestead on 100 acres of land.
George died in young manhood. Barnabas and Isaac lived on the homestead.
Barnabas married Miss Sarah Maxfield and started farming on what is now known as the Myers’ farm. They had two children :-—— Mary, wife of John S. MacQuarrie, and Joseph B., who married Mary Jane Cameron of Hampton. To this union were born five children :—-— William Bertram, Robert E., Lilla M., Artemas P., and Chesley T.; all of whom are deceased. .
Joseph B. died on October 16, 1904. His Wife predeceased him in July, 1903. Their eldest son, Bertram, carried on farming on the old homestead until 1930.
Robert E. married Myra Rogerson, and settled on the old Mac- Dougall farm. They had four children:— Wilfred W., Vice-President of the Kenwood Mills, Arnprior, Ontario; Joseph F., Crapaud; Amy (Mrs. Robert Thomson), Manchester, NH; and Florence (Mrs. Wilmot Mac- Donald), Crapaud. , >
Robert died at the age of 33, and when Joseph was old enough, he
