ADAMS Thomas Adams was an early settler who came out from England and settled in . He married Emily Delaney from French River . They had a family of six boys and three girls. One of Thomas's sons, William Benjamin was born March, 1864 in . In 1895 he married Francis Beairsto , daughter of Wm. Beairsto of Spring Valley , a Miller by trade. The Beairstos came out from England many years earlier. Their family was comprised of seven girls and three boys. The pattern seems to follow as all the early settlers had large famil¬ ies in the early days. In 1907 William Benjamin and his wife bought a farm from James Tuplin . They moved to Indian River to enjoy eleven years of hard work, making a home for their family, enjoying the community life of the district, and the kindness of the country people. Many advantages people enjoy today were missing, but they enjoyed family life in the home. In March, 1918 William Benjamin was stricken with pneumonia and passed away at the early age of fifty-four. His widow sold the farm and moved to Kensington with her two children, where she passed away March, 1939, age sixty-nine. Neil died in infancy. Hazel , R.N. attended Indian River School and took nurses training in Prince County Hospital, Summerside . She worked as a supervisor at the hospital for twenty-five years and retired in 1970. She now lives in Kensing¬ ton. Charles William attended Indian River School, and Kensington School. He has been employed by Packers for the past twenty-four years. He married Lillian MacKenzie and they had a family of two girls and one boy. Frances Elaine , graduate of Summerside High School and P.E.I. Hospital, Charlottetown in 1953. She is presently employed by the Island Telephone Co . Business Office. She is married to Roger Kennedy , Kensing¬ ton. They have one son, Stephen. Carol Jean attended Kensington School and Summerside Business College. She is married to Allison Roach , Ken¬ sington. They have one son, Trent and one daughter, Kellie Jayne. William Charles (Bill) graduated from Kensington High School. He is employed by The Bank of Nova Scotia. He married Marsha Bishop of Chipman , N.B. They have one daughter, Twila Dawn.
