CLARK
George and Annie (nee Manderson) with their three children ——- Ethel, Alfretta, and Nelson —— came to Indian River from Spring Valley in 1890. They purchased the farm from the Parish Priest, Father Chaisson. Six other children were born to George and Annie while in lndian River; namely, Orville, Harvey, Jane, Velda, Edith, and Keir. The Clarks moved from Indian River in 1907 to a farm on the Paddy Land road, now owned by the family of the late Heath Caseley. They sold their farm in Indian River to Mr. MacLeod, who later sold it to John Cameron. The farm was later owned by L. G. Ramsay and is now farmed by Bruce and Lester Champion. In 1924, George and Annie retired in Kensington. George passed away in 1928 and Annie in 1939.
Ethel — married Heath Caseley. They first lived in Margate and later moved to the farm on the Paddy Land Road, which is still owned by the family. Their family consisted of Edith, Clark, Velda, Willa, Anna, Nelson, and Marjorie (deceased). Heath passed away in 1970. Ethel resides with her eldest daughter, Edith (Mrs. Bruce Riley, Baltic.)
Alfretta — married J. Arnold Douglas and lived in Norboro. Her husband is deceased and she resides with her son George and family in Kensington. Their family of seven are: Elma, Alex, George, Ethel, Ray, Keith, and Thane.
Nelson —— married the former Minnie Larkin. They farmed for a time in Clermont on the farm now owned by Mrs. Leland Curley. Later they moved to Hunter’s River where they ran a meat market. Nelson passed away in 1954. His wife resides at Beach Grove. They had two children, both deceased. ‘
Orville -— married the former Janie Dunning of North Granville. They farmed and raised their family of four sons and two daughters on the farm now owned and farmed by their son George. They now live in a mobile home one-quarter of a mile from the homestead. Their children are Reta, Morris, Lowell, Roy, Phelicia, and George.
Harvey —- went to Western Canada where he worked with the tele- phone company. He married Ella Shearer. They had the following family —- Orville, Jean, Harvey, Jr., and James. Harvey passed away in 1960.
Jane —— married Joseph Woodside. They lived'for a time on a farm in Margate, moving to Kensington in 1940 where they still reside. They have two daughters, Olive and Beryl.
Velda — married Ray Waite. . They farmed in Sherbrooke. Velda’s husband is deceased, but she still lives on the family farm. They had four sons —'— Elton, Elmer, Ivan, and Ensor.
Edith — (deceased) — She died at the age of three years.
Keir —— married the former Ella Ramsay of Hamilton. Keir operated a meat market and later a grocery store, now operated by the Co—op in Kensington. Keir passed away in 1956. His wife Ella, who later married James Cooke and lived for a time in British Columbia, is now residing in Kensington. Their family consisted of Elwood, Leslie, Mildred, Don, Mar- ven, and Eleanor.
