JORDAN
The little house between the Mill Road and Indian River Cross Roads has been occupied by three different names. First in the early nineties by John MacDonald, a shoemaker, and his sister, Flora, later by Linus Campbell and his wife, the former Lucy Gillis of Kensington, finally it was sold to Miss Mary MacKinnon of Rhinecliff, N.Y. Her mother, Mrs. Frank MacKinnon, moved there from North Bedeque, P.E.I. with two granddaughters, Effie and Margaret around 1910. Effie went to live with her Aunts, Mary and Elizabeth and married Frank Jordan. There were nine children; three boys: William, Bruce and Charles; and six girls: Genevieve, Audry, Beatrice, Stella, Eliza- beth (called Dolly), Shirley and June. Margaret MacKinnon died in the flu epidemic in 1919 in St. Josephs Convent School in New Brunswick.
The house has since been torn down. Effie having moved from New York back to Indian River. Died January 8th,1949.

LOCKHART
Anthony Lockhart was born in Hamilton, P.E.I., the son of Anthony - Lockhart and Mary (MacLellan) Lockhart, the father being a native of Glas- gow, Scotland. He married Priscilla Hillman and lived in Indian River, where he carried on a carriage shop, mainly repairs and building truck wagons. He also had a farm. Their family consisted of twelve children: Alexander, Robert, James, Laura, William, Etta, Annie, Stanford, Rhoda, Moody, Mabel, Blanche. In the year 1900 the family sold out and moved to Coleman, P.E.I., where some members of the family still reside.

A Big—City Minister visiting a rural parish was asked to pray for rain. The rain came in floods and destroyed some of the crops, whereupon one elder remarked to another —- ' “This is what comes of asking a man to pray for rain when he doesn’t know anything about ag ricultu re.”
