Another home on the Edwin Johnson property, near the orchard was occupied by William Fyfe.

Melville Baker and Wife Selina (Tuplin) lived there a few years.

Later this house was sold and it was hauled down the road to the Robert Howard property. It was placed at the right of their driveway near the road.

Calvin Beairsto and wife lived there first and then John Howard when he was first married.

George Johnson owned a home on the property now owned by An- drew Johnson. It was situated near the spring, just back from the pond at the Margate Motel.

His son George L. Johnson later lived in this home, and when their daughter, Janie (Mrs. Lorne MacEwen) was one year old, they moved to

O’Leary.

Another farm property, opposite the home of Douglas Johnson, on land now owned by Lorne Glydon, was first occupied by Enoch Dennis, who married Eliza Squarebriggs from the Western end of the Island. Enoch was a brother of William, John and Albert Dennis. Enoch was living up West and bought this property from brother John and then moved to Mar- gate. His children are: Mabel, Herbert, Bill, Vernon, Roy, Ruth and

Bertha.

This farm was later purchased by George Paynter and his wife, Addie Bernard. Part of his family were born in Margate before moving to Freetown, where the other children were born.

His family are:

( 1) Harold married (1) Minnie Campbell, Freetown and (2) Myrtle Pro- fitt, Burlington.

( 2) Ernest married (1) Pearl Campbell, Freetown, (2) Mrs. Annie Burhoe.

( 3) John married Gladys Bernard, Freetown. ( 4) Cecil married Hazel Campbell, Freetown. ( 5) Mildred married Albert Glydon, Margate. ( 6) Trueman married Annie Andrews, Freetown. ~( 7) George married Annie MacNeil, Alma. ( 8) Horace married Phyllis Hickey, Darnley. Living in Clinton.

( 9) Walter married Gladys Thomas of Sherbrooke. Residing in Hali- fax, NS

(10) Fred married Lucy Pickering of Sherbrooke. Reside in Freetown.

(11) Amy married Donald Bernard of Freetown.
