On July 12, 1953, with Rev. Mr. Ibbott of St. Paul's Church, Char- lottetown, as guest speaker, the congregation celebrated the 100th anni¬ versary of the erection of their building. Age, however, did not inhibit new undertakings and new developments. June 5, 1957 marked the de¬ dication of a new manse. This was followed, on July 1, 1961, by the am¬ algamation of Mount Stewart - West St. Peter 's with St. Peter 's Bay to form a new Pastoral Charge. At that time the former Methodist Church at Donaldston , which had been included in the Charge since 1925, was closed. At a meeting held on September 28, 1964, the congregation under¬ took the formidable task of erecting a new church hall. With Mr. Ken ¬ neth P. Jay as pverseer, assisted by a large body of willing volunteers, the work proceeded rapidly. Special reference, as in the case of the con¬ struction of the manse, should be made to the participation and assistance given by the Ladies' Aid and its successor, the United Church Women . There were also a number of sizeable bequests. On October 17, 1965 the Mount Stewart Christian Education Centre was officially dedicated. The indebtedness was retired in December, 1972. "Almighty God, by whose inspiration our fathers built this church: we thank thee for bringing us to this hour of worship and this day of celebration." So Rev. D. R. MacLennan began the invocation on Sunday, September 2, 1973, the occasion of the presentation of a plaque by the Centennial Inter-faith committee in recognition of the church's 120 years of service to the community. Observances such as this heighten the wor¬ shipper's awareness of his Christian heritage and of his membership in that great host of witnesses, seen and unseen, whose labours for good in the community date back to pioneer times. During its long history the Church has been blessed with a large number of dedicated ministers. As far as can be determined, these were as follows: 1853-1865, Rev. Henry Crawford ; 1865-1868, Rev. D. W. Cameron ; 1871-1885, Rev. W. R. Frame ; 1886-1892, Rev. A. B. MacLeod ; 1896-1907, Rev. Alexander Craise ; 1908-1909, Rev. Dr. MacPhail ; 1909-1917, Rev. R.P. Murray ; 1917-1923, Rev. J. C. Martin ; 1924-1926, Rev. B. H. Penwarden ; 1926-1933, Rev. M. K. Charman ; 1933-1941, Rev. Sidney J . Boyce; 1941-1951, Rev. W. T. Mercer ; 1952-1954, Rev. W. N. Byers ; 1954-1955, Rev. H. S. Raynor ; 1956-1957, Rev. B. V. MacLean ; 1957-1961, Rev. J. M. Sheen ; 1961- , Rev. D. R. MacLennan .
