Schooner 'Constitution* of Gloucester Mass. towed into this harbour the American schooner * C. F. Haskell ', which vessel was found dismasted between the North and of the Island. The wreck of a vessel grounded to the west of Covehead Harbour and immediately went to pieces, and it is conjectured all on board must have perished. About 60 barrels of flour came on shore and some articles of dry goods. Twe vessels are sunk near Stanhope - names unknown. Schooner 'Vulture' of Newburyport lost one man overboard, also flying jib, and jib-boom* Schooner 'Empire' of Dixon U. S . lost her jib boom and had her sails split. Schooner 'John' of Gloucester U. S . lost her boat, sails split and decks swept of everything. Schooner 'Maramora' had her sails torn, reports that she passed an American vessel on her beam end, with 2 men in the mast head, but was unable to render them any assistance, owing to the loss of her sails and the heavy sea which was running. i Schooner 'Ocean* from had her bowsprit broken off by a sea while her jib was stowed. Lost everything on deck and an anchor. Schooner 'Guess* from Westport lost her boat. Schooner 'Hero* from Lubec - lost both anchors in the , and was in company with 5 other vessels which also lost their anchors. Schooner *Sata Brooks' lost flying jib.
