FAMILIES From Drummond's diary and family record, we have names of sixteen families who arrived on the "Falmouth" in 1770. The following names are included: Auld (All), Brown, Dewar, Gregor ( Greggor , Groggor), Jamieson (Jamison), Lawson, Leitch (Leech), MacCallum (McCallum, McCullum), MacEwen (McEwan), MacGregor (McGregor, McGreggor), MacLauchlan (McLaughlin), MacNeill ( McNale ), Marshall, Millar, Shaw, Taylor. Included in this history is an account from family records of the Aulds, Browns, Gregors, Lawsons, Leitchs, MacCallums, MacEwens, MacGregors and Shaws. The Marshall family will be found under the Brown family with the marriage of Alexander Marshall to one of Lawrence Brown 's daughters. ■ • ■ The only records of the Jamieson family are the entries in Drummond's diary of the marriage of Lawrence Brown to Jean Jamieson and the drowning of Alex Jamieson in Tracadie Harbour . John McLauchlin was drowned at the same time. The present MacLauchlan families in the area are descendants of settlers from the Head of Hillsborough settle¬ ments. No further records of the McNeills ( McNale ), Taylors or Dewars have been located as yet. A member of the Higgins family from Three Rivers helped the early settlers of Lot 34 to locate . Cornelius Higgins married a daughter of David Lawson . 71
