FAMILY OF PETER LEITCH OF COVEHEAD " Peter Leech " was another passenger on the "Falmouth". He was probably unmarried at the time of the voyage. In April, 1798, he was living in Lot 34 with a wife and (probably) five children. Two males in his household were aged 16 to 60, one was under 16, and there were three females under 16 and one aged 16 to 60. The name of his wife is unknown. I have the name of only one of his children, namely, Neil Leitch , who married Marion McMillan . She was a daughter of Lauchlin and Sarah (McPherson) McMillan, who came from Lochaber, Argyllshire, Scotland , in 1803 aboard the "Polly", landed at Belfast , and settled at Black Point, in Covehead , in 1806. Neil and Marion (McMillan) Leitch had three children, John, who married Miss Minto , Mary, who was married, and Sally, who married her cousin Angus McMillan , son of Donald and Margaret (Mutch) McMillan. Another child may have been ■ ■ Catherine Leitch , who married William Higgins of Covehead and had a very large family. One of their sons was named Neil Higgins , perhaps for Catherine's father. 93
