She was the mother of Benjamin McEwen (1818 - 1882) of Brackley Point and South Rustico, wh0w m. 23 Dec. 1844 Mary Ann Robison of Robinson's Island, daughter of John and Elizabeth (Moore) Robinson. The The father of Margaret's child was Benjamin McEwen (1789 - 1867)
of New London, 6th son of Duncan by his first wife, Janet McLaren.
iii James, b, ca. 1796; d. at Clifton, New London, in December, 1874,
aged about 79 years (will dated 24 Dec. 1874 proved 18 Jan. 1875, (8:765); m, ca. 1818 Jane Brown (b. in 1798 d. 22 Jan. 1881 ae. 83), eldest child of John and Isabella (Lawson) Brown of Covehead. She
is buried at Brackley Point. James lived At Brackley Point,
Rustico, and New London.
iv John, junior, b. in 1802; d. at Brackley Point, 19 Nov. 1879, aged 77 years (9. s.) m. ca. 1830 Elizabeth Brown (1807 - 1849 ae 42),
daughter of James Brown of Covehead. They are both buried at
Brackley Point.
_ The parentage of Joseph McGregor, of Covehead and Lot 48, has not as yet been definitely established. He was born at least as early as 1815 and possibly five or ten years earlier, probably in Covehead. He may have been a son of David and Janet (Ross) McGregor, who came from
Drynie, Rossshire, Scotland, between April 1798, and October, 1807.
