FAMILY OF NEIL SHAW OF COVEHEAD, LOT 34

Neil Shaw, his wife, Catherine McIvor, their two sons, Malcolm and Duncan, and probably several daughters, came on the "Falmouth" in 1770, and settled at Covehead. Catherine (McIvor) Shaw died before April, 1798, when the household of Neil and Malcolm Shaw in Lot 34 consisted of one female under 16 years of age, two males and one female aged 16 to 60, and one male over 60. Benjamin Chappell's Diary notes, "December 15th, 1799, Dyed old Mr. Neil Shaw." Neil's son Malcolm remained at Covehead, but Duncan moved

to Brackley Point, Lot 33, with his family, about 1809.

ii Duncan, b. ca. 1760; d. at Brackley Point, Lot 33, before 13 May 1814; m. Rev. DesBrisay, 15 Jan. 1785, Isabella Millar (d. at Brackley Point, 13 May 1814), daughter of John Millar of Covehead. They were living in Lot 34 in April, 1798, and moved

to Brackley Point about 1809.
