Mr. DesBrisay listened to the story and after hearing of the dates confirmed that it was the H. M. S. Renoun on which DesBrisay had served as chaplain at that time. Bovyer remained a close friend of DesBrisay until his death the next year. The Bovyer family, who lived on , were all descendants of Stephen Bovyer 's son, Stephen. The younger Stephen had been married before leaving the United States and came to P. E. I . with his wife and five children. This is the Stephen Bovyer listed in the 1798 census for Lot 34. One of the descend¬ ants of Stephen Bovyer , Miss Jane Bovyer of wrote a local column "The Covehead Notes" which were published in the Charlottetown papers. Her brother Dr. Nelson Bovyer , was a well known Island doctor, practising for many years at Crapaud, P. E.
