foxes at their best; but you can see and have some con- ception of what this industry means to our province.

“Our province is also famed for our ‘Malpeque Oys- ters.’ We have the finest'oysters that can be obtained. You will see ‘Malpeque’ oysters advertised on bills of fare everywhere. I may say that we are very much pleased with the condition in this regard, but unfortunately, while you may see ‘Malpeque Oysters’ advertised today, we are unable to obtain the oysters, and it is only the fine name and reputation that we have. A disease unfortunately crept into our oyster beds a few years ago, but we believe in a few years it will be eliminated. We have survived the name and reputation of our Malpeque Oysters, and we want to sustain it as best we can.

“I do hope, however, that notwithstanding your very short visit here, you may enjoy the pleasures and attrac- tions of our province; that you may carry away the fond- est and most pleasant recollections, and that you may some day return.’

Mayor Yeo then addressed us as follows :-——“Mr. Prem- ier, Mr. Chairman, Ladies and Gentlemen: This has been a rather eventful week for us. On Tuesday last it was our privilege to welcome Sir Henry. Thornton and his railway associates, and on that occasion Sir Henry selected a site on which will shortly be erected a magnificent new Canadian National hotel.

“Yesterday it was our privilege to extend a welcome to the Maritime Livestock Board, which is holding a two days’ session in our city, considering matters con- cerning the livestock industry and planning for the fur- ther development and extension of that important business. These have been important visits.

“Today we are honoured with ‘The New Outlook’ party. Many of you come from the far reaches of our country,
