Since Prince Edward Island entered the Confederation in 1873, the Province has had twelve complete Legislatures, the first seven of which comprised two Houses—the Legislative Council and the House of Assembly; and the last five of which comprised these two Houses sitting and voting together, known as the Legislative Assembly. Of the thirty members of the Legislature as new con- stituted, fifteen are elected on the same franchise as the previous Legislative Council, that is by the vote of property owners; and the other fifteen are elected by the free manhood franchise of the whole male population.
In the Legislative session of 1915, fifty-two bills were passed, as follows :
An Act to amend “The Election Act, 1913.”
An Act to amend ” The Road Act, 1912."
An Act to amend ” The Land Assessment Act, 1912.”
An Act to consolidate and amend the Acts imposing certain taxes on certain Companies and Associations and Brewers.
