PRINCE EDWARD ISLAND IN THE EUROPEAN WAR.

On the outbreak of the European War in 1914 draughts from the artillerymen of P. E. Island under Major Darke and Captain Stanley were at once dispatched to Sydney and Canso for the pro- tection of those important points on our coasts ; and a detachment of the Medical Army Corps, under Captain Yeo, M. D., was sent to Valcartier. Subsequently contingents went to Halifax for gar- rison duty.

Subjoined is a list of those who enlisted from Prince Edward Island and sailed from Quebec with the First Canadian Expedi- tionary Force, September, 1914 :—
