NOTRE DAME CONVENT.
Notre Dame Convent was founded in 1857 by His Lordship Bishop Bernard McDonald. Sisters St. Eulalie, St. Pulcherie, St. Felicite and St. Claire were the first Sisters. They took possess- ion of the Convent September 28, 1857. The Superiors of this large and flourishing institution were : Mother St. Eulalie, Superior in 1857 ; Mother St. Mary Antoinette in 1873 ; Mother St. John of the Cross in 1876 ; Mother St.Ursula in 1880 ; Mother St. Eulalie in 1883; Mother St. Cornelia in 1886; Mother St. Peter Chrysologus in 1888 ; Mother St. Catherine of Sweden in 1900.
The present staff is composed of : S. S. Catherine of Sweden. Superior ; S. de la Resurrection, S. S. Joseph Mary, S. S. Roderick. S. S. Joseph Carmel, S. S. Philip, S. S. Mary of Miracles, S. S. Rufina, S. S. Agnes of the Cross, S. S. Mary Damase, S. S. John of the Blessed Sacrament, S. S. Marguerite of Foligno, S. S. Theo- dosia, S. S. Florida, S. S. Mary Justin.
