ASSOCIATION First President : Present President : R. V. Longworth R. V. Longworth. First Secretary : Present Secretary : Ambrose Poali George Lightizer
Ever since its organization the Poultry Association has been holding Poultry Shows, and for the last two years it has received a grant of $50.00 towards the expenses. Last year an attempt was made to bring the Show more prominently before the public. A suitable building is now available and proper exhibition crates have been provided.
The unusually high prices paid for eggs, chicken and fowl, combined with the formation of egg circles under the direction of Mr. Benson, and the encouragement given by the Government caused farmers and their wives to devote much more attention to their poultry than in any previous year.
HORTICULTURAL
The Fruit Gowers' Association of Prince Edward Island re- ceives a grant of $75.00 a year from the Department of Agricul- ture. It holds a Winter Fruit Show and an annual meeting at which educational addresses are delivdred in connection with the growing of fruit and demonstrations given in packing of apples, pruning of trees, etc.
As an auxiliary of the Fruit Growers’ Association the Co- Operative Fruit Company was organized in 1910, with A. E. Dewar as President and Theodore Ross as Secretary, to assist its members in the purchasing of packages, stock and other supplies, and in the sale of their products.
