Penalties ranging from one dollar to fifty dollars may be ex- acted for failure to comply with the provisions of the law regard- ing vital statistics.

The Road Masters have been appointed to send in the Births and Deaths for the several Districts.

Deaths occurring in Charlottetown, Summerside and George- town, must be registered before burial. Deaths occuring in other Districts must be registered within seven days of their occurrence.

Births must be registered within thirty (30) days of their oc- currence.

The statistics obtained during the year 1915 under the provis- ions of this law, are as follows :—

Marriages—Queen’s County, 252; Prince County, 207; King’s County 71. Total, 530.

Births—Queen's County, 400; King’s County, 399; Prince County, 747; Charlottetown, 197. Total, 1743.

Deaths—Queen’s County, 260; King’s County, 255 ; Prince County, 317 ; Charlottetown, 253. Total 1085.

POSTAL FACILITIES

At the end of 1915, about a hundred and sixty-eight rural mail delivery routes had been opened in this Province. The postal boxes on these routes numbered 7460, and about nine thousand families are served by the couriers.
