In 1977, under the Rev. Frank Gosbee, the Brackley United Church is again undergoing remodelling. The church is being moved about two hundred feet from its original location so that a finished basement and rear wing can be added. The basement will accommodate Sunday School and a variety of Church socials, such as, suppers, UCW meetings, AOTS meetings, and the like. The new wing will accommodate a larger choir gallery

The Winsloe United Church AOTS Men’s Club is made up chiefly of men from Brackley. Throughout the years this club has been very active and has been recognized as such by the Men’s Council, the Presbytery overruling all United Church Men’s Clubs. They have been presented with a number of plaques, one of which was won for being the most active Men’s Club on P.E.l. for a number of years. Donald Campbell of Highfield, is the president, and Ivan Bryenton of Brackley, is the secretary. To appreciate fully the merits of this Club, it is necessary to have a knowledge of what the members are required to do. The aim of the National Association of United Church AOTS Men’s Clubs, ”is to promote Christian Fellowship, to deepen the Spiritual Life of men, and to develop an effective programme of

Christian Service.”

The men’s club only meets in the winter months, and essentially serves to create and promote fellowship amongst the men of the parish. However, during the past few years the men have been responsible for providing the gestetner for printing the church bulletins; for donating money to various organizations; and for buying Christmas dinners for the poorer families on the Island. The Winsloe Men’s Club also has a very successful men’s choir, which has been together for thepast seven or eight
